VIDEO
Transformation Tuesday… can you believe these photos are less than a year apart?!? These years of babies, sleepless nights, defiant toddlers, endless hugs and ‘pick up me’ go by so quickly and if we aren’t careful we can truly miss it. I want to discuss mindfulness and how I’m consciously bringing that into my day. Frequently, I catch myself operating on autopilot moving through the motions with the next task in mind. Sometimes I go to bed without being able to recall what the kids were dressed in during the day. . After hearing ‘mindfulness’ talked about on the @liveplanted podcast and then as the universe would have it seeing it front and center everywhere (seriously title of lead article in magazine during grocery checkout.. ‘how to be more mindful’) got me thinking about it and wanting me to make a daily habit of it. ☀️ For me I am able to initiate mindfulness when I step outside. I stop even just for 2 seconds and register what the sun or crisp air feels on my skin, the sounds I hear, the smells in the air. Seriously, stepping outside resets something in me, it allows me a few seconds to be ? in the present. Then I move on, grab the mail, walk to my car, head to the park, work, etc. But those moments create a spiral, having that one conscience moment of ‘mindfulness’ makes me more present throughout my day. And on those day I can tell you in detail what my kids wore ???. I am appreciating those moments because looking at these 2 pictures only 11 months apart, to see and know how much the kids have grown and changed in such a small time period… I want to be present… I don’t this time to go by like the car ride to work ‘wait how did I get here’ ??♀️ I want to remember their favorite outfits, the frustrating parts of the day, and the extra hugs. Because oh too soon they will be very different people. . #mindfulness #transformationtuesday #postpartum @postpartum @mother.ly #pieparenting #gentleparenting #positiveparenting #attachmentparenting #mombloggers #happymommy #mommylife #lovebaby #mommylovesyou #mommysbaby #motherandbaby #instamama #mamasbaby #motherson #ig_motherhood #mommyhood #littlefamily #mumlife #familytime #childcareprovider #mum #parents

Little kids and big emotions. Today was a tough day, but that’s ok. Husband is out of town and I’m 2 days in the life of solo parenting. Some days are definitely easier than others. Last night was rough with Milo’s sleep, which started my day on a tired note. Miss Olive was dealing with a lot of big emotions today ? which required extra love and patience and Sage was high energy. Lots of deep breaths and I’m beyond grateful to have my sister get in town today from AZ @sweetswifty ❤️ None of us were born knowing how to control big emotions and our children will take a while to learn. This is okay – time is something they have plenty of. In the meantime, the job for us as the adults in their lives who care about them, is to nurture their ability to manage their emotional responses in healthy, adaptive ways. Everyday has a sunny moment ☀️, something that made you feel happy, grateful or proud; a stormy part ?, something that made you feel sad, mad or frustrated and leaves you with something you are looking forward too ?. Feelings can be uncomfortable but feelings are the way into our hearts ♥️, and opening our hearts is the first step to understanding ourselves, cultivating empathy and compassion. #momlife #momof3 #mumof3 #gentleparenting #positiveparenting #respectiveparenting #bedtimeroutine

Monday Meal (the WHAT & the WHY) — Ok seriously my family’s food life revolves around what can be made in t-minus 15 minutes ⏲. (which is why I love Sunday meal prep) and have slowly mastered many fast (but delicious and nutritious) weeknight meals. This is a kid fav because it’s pasta ? and mom fav because it’s exploding with nutrition ? A common saying in our house is ‘Greens to Grow’ ??. Below I share the what and the why is in this meal. (LIKE this post if you want more ‘what and why’ meals)! . Edamama Pasta (25g protein, calcium (14%) and iron (38%) Steamed Broccoli (Vitamin A, C, Iron and Calcium) Roasted Asparagus (vitamin K, zinc, and iron) Avocado (Heart-healthy fats (kids need healthy fat!), and calories) Nutritional Yeast (Vitamin B12, B6, protein, and zinc) . Easy peasy is the name of the game. We love mixing our pasta with some @traderjoes kale, cashew & basil #vegan pesto or @earthbalance vegan butter. . #eatyourgreens #eatyourethics #weeknightmeals #whatveganseat #greenpastabowl #momof3 #veganfamily #veganfamilymeals #recipes #weeknightdinner #fitmommawhatandwhy
